Researchers look to reduce home energy expenses in low-income communities

School of Architecture

Energy costs are a significant burden for people in low-income communities, which face a disproportionate amount of spending on home energy. Residential energy retrofits are key to reducing this burden and achieving a low-carbon, sustainable future. Ashrant Aryal, assistant professor of construction science, is part of a research team that is developing a way to automate energy retrofit planning to quickly provide a tailored plan for a residence.
